{"id":324,"date":"2013-06-01T09:00:42","date_gmt":"2013-06-01T09:00:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/?p=324"},"modified":"2016-12-18T22:58:17","modified_gmt":"2016-12-18T22:58:17","slug":"i-love-queenstown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/index.php\/2013\/06\/01\/i-love-queenstown\/","title":{"rendered":"I Love Queenstown!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>June 1, 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_4028.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-847\" title=\"IMG_4028\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_4028-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"590\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Queenstown has definitely been my favorite city that we\u2019ve visited so far. I love the city feel with the mountains and nature activities incorporated into their lifestyle! The Remarkable mountain range which is the scene that Queenstown is frequently pictured with is truly remarkable. People come here for an adrenaline rush and a one of kind experience, and they will definitely get it while here. Today, I did not bungy jump, but that\u2019s alright. I went luging instead. It was not luging on ice, the way I imagined when people mentioned it as an option. It\u2019s a little like go-karts without motors. You ride downhill in a cart with wheels that you can steer and stop but that\u2019s about it. It was really fun! We did the tracks three times and rode the gondola (up each time at the end of our track).<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-844\" title=\"IMG_3982_1\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_3982_1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"786\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I forgot how to mention how we got to the top of the mountain. We hiked. It was pretty much straight uphill. We did the Tiki Track, which took about an hour to climb. When we rode the gondola down, we looked at how high up we went and were pretty proud of ourselves! It was probably one of the hardest hikes we\u2019ve done, only because of the steep grade it was. The view at the top was all worth it. The rain held off for most of the day and I can only hope the same for tomorrow. Tomorrow we\u2019re ziplining and I\u2019m so excited!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_3989.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-845\" title=\"IMG_3989\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_3989-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSCN1388_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-842\" title=\"DSCN1388_1\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/DSCN1388_1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After our luging adventure, we went into town and got toasties for lunch. That\u2019s what they call toasted sandwiches. Then, we did some more souvenir shopping around Queenstown. There were some great deals! We wandered into this sweets and fudge shop called Remarkable Sweets and the smell was intoxicating. You could feel the sugar in the air it was so thick. Okay, that might be an exaggeration, but it was very strong. I couldn\u2019t resist. I got a little bit of a couple different kinds of fudge to nibble on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/SKQL1230VTTS.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-849\" title=\"SKQL1230VTTS\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/SKQL1230VTTS-1024x661.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"380\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/SKQL940PEJK.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-848\" title=\"SKQL940PEJK\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/SKQL940PEJK-1024x661.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"380\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_4004.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-846\" title=\"IMG_4004\" src=\"http:\/\/hilaryintransition.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/IMG_4004-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"590\" height=\"442\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After shopping, I had to finish my modules for my class since they\u2019re due tomorrow morning. Looking ahead, I realized that we have two more essays, a quiz, a final project, and a final exam all due by next Thursday. I\u2019m not sure how it\u2019s all going to fit in that amount of time, especially given our travel and activities planned for each day, but it\u2019s crazy to realize our trip is almost over. We fly out on Friday. My layovers in Auckland and Los Angeles are <em>extremely<\/em> long though which won\u2019t be fun.
