Remember in <a href=\"http:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/index.php\/2018\/01\/31\/52-hike-challenge-2018\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">January<\/a>\u00a0when I first posted about doing this challenge? I feel that I rarely keep up New Years Resolutions, but I did this one! It was definitely a commitment, but I enjoyed doing it.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>172<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b> miles and <\/b><\/span><b>34,329<\/b><span class=\"s1\"><b> feet of elevation gain! <\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This was a fantastic challenge for Brighton and I to do as we <a href=\"http:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/index.php\/2018\/01\/18\/welcome-to-washington\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">moved to Seattle<\/a>\u2014 We got to see so many new places and it pushed us to get out there and explore every weekend. There were times when I wanted to stay on the couch or blog (<em>ahem, oops<\/em>), but it was important for us to push ourselves to go even when the weather was less than ideal. I enjoyed bringing out many visitors on hikes when they came to visit us and including them in our journey. I tried to include photos below when our visitors hiked with us.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Top 10 Highlights of the Year<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Hiking in the <a href=\"http:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/index.php\/2018\/08\/20\/naches-peak-loop-hike-30-52\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Naches Peak Loop<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/index.php\/2018\/02\/25\/artist-point-snowshoe-hike-5-52\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Artist Point<\/a> in the winter<\/li>\n<li>Taking <a href=\"http:\/\/nextstopadventure.com\/index.php\/2017\/04\/17\/introducing-newest-family-member-koda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Koda<\/a> for most of the hikes \u2014 She&#8217;s a great Learned<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>When in doubt, bring a rain jacket, especially in the PNW<\/li>\n<li>Hiking will <em>almost<\/em> always recharge me, and I will always thank myself for getting out there<\/li>\n<li>It&#8217;s important to unplug and reconnect with nature, Brighton, and Koda<\/li>\n<li>It doesn&#8217;t always need to be a hard or difficult hike to get the benefit of the experience<\/li>\n<li>There are a crazy amount of hikes available to us where we live (Seattle area)<\/li>\n<li>Your coworkers will know what you&#8217;re doing every weekend after the conversation
