While I am here in Salt Lake, I am lucky enough to be here during Sundance Film Festival. I am no movie buff in the slightest. I’m actually probably rather behind on mainstream movies, but I felt like I should try to take advantage of my opportunities while I am here! I decided I was going to go to Park City (where the festivities are happening) and go celebrity hunting. My one and only goal was to see a celebrity.
Traffic was pretty horrendous, and parking was even worse. I got up there late afternoon, early evening. My roommate has a store where she was working that day. Her suggestion was to camp out somewhere and just wait for them to pass. Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad) was supposedly there, who was the main person I wanted to see. But, beggars can’t be choosers.
After being there for a couple hours, I started to give up. We went to a place to grab some appetizers, and upstairs they were having a private event. Suddenly, when I’m least expecting it…. I see one!
The problem was that I couldn’t place him or remember his name off the top of my head. I also wasn’t quick enough to get a picture, which is sad… But I was satisfied with just seeing him.
It was Joe Manganiello. I recognize him from True Blood. He plays Alcide Herveaux, the tall, sexy werewolf. He’s 6’5″ and looks very Italian. He’s also in Spiderman, which I didn’t realize, and played a character in One Tree Hill and other various shows I’ve seen. After that, my trip was all worth it! It would’ve been cool to try to work or volunteer at the event, but hey! I’ll take what I can get. 🙂
