Today was our first day of the road trip to Utah! In the end, it was decided that Katie was going to come with me for the trip as my copilot and traveling companion. We took off from St. Pete around 10:30am, a little later than was planned, so our stopping point was still in Florida.

We drove for about 7 hours total today, only stopping for gas and a quick lunch (probably my last Publix sub for a while)! The drive was typical Florida, flat and marshy. To be honest, I was just excited to be on the road trip. This is my first multi-day road trip. My goal is to try to take pictures with every state’s sign that we go through. We counted an estimated 8 states on our planned route, but it’s subject to change.
First State After Leaving Florida– Alabama
For our accommodations, we chose to use Priceline and it was very successful! We got a 3 star hotel for under $65. We will probably try and do that for our next destination. Dinner was delicious as well. We went to Nick’s Boathouse and both ordered pasta primavera (mine with shrimp, hers without). It was delicious, and as Katie said, “hit the spot.”
