Seattle Bucket List

One of my favorite things to do in new cities is be a tourist (without tourist shame) and try both the tourist attractions and the hidden “locals only” spots! Prior to moving, I had been to Seattle twice in my life– once in 2010 and again in 2015. As we have visitors coming to visit us in Washington, I want to give them the full Seattle/PNW experience so I started a list of things to do.

I’ll be adding to this list as I find them, but let me know if I’ve missed something cool!

Items in italics are complete!

  • Go to Pike Place Market and see the Flying Fish
  • Go see the Seattle Skyline from Kerry Park
  • Visit the first Starbucks
  • Add to the Gum Wall in Post Alley
  • See the Ballard Locks in motion
  • Chihuly Glass Museum
  • Visit the Space Needle & Ride the Monorail
  • MoPOP (Formerly EMP)
  • Feel like Harry Potter at the University of Washington Library
  • Ride the Seattle Great Wheel
  • Fremont Troll under the Bridge
  • Argosy Seattle Waterfront Cruise
  • Ride the Ferry to Bainbridge
  • Visit Snoqualmie Falls
  • Seattle Asian Art Musem
  • Ride the elevator to the top of Seattle Central Library
  • Seattle Underground Tour (Starts in Pioneer Square)
  • Visit the Living Computers: Museum + Lab
  • Drink some Anchored Ship Coffee
  • Step back in history at Pioneer Square
  • Ride the Ducks through Seattle
  • See Gas Works Park
  • Wake up with Zeitgeist Coffee
  • Try Rachel’s Ginger Beer
  • Enjoy the Coziness of Elliott Bay Book Company
  • Eat at the Crab Pot
  • Visit the Kubota Garden
  • Wander through the Washington Park Arboretum
  • Sunday Ballards Farmers Market
  • Drink Flights at Capitol Cider
  • Sunday Public Sail at the Center for Wooden Boats

I’d like to do a separate “PNW” area bucket list since there’s so much more beyond Seattle too. 🙂
