There was supposed to be a break in the rain, which we were hoping to catch but we only caught the tail-end of the break. Nevertheless, it was a fun hike splashing around in the puddles with Koda as we raced up the trail in hopes of catching the view I’d seen in photos.
Expectation vs. Reality:
A positive of the rain? We didn’t see a single person on the trail.
Driving Directions
From Seattle, drive north on 1-5 to Everett and turn east on US Highway 2. Drive US 2 to the Index junction. Make a left onto Index-Galena Rd. and continue for approximately 1 mile to a gated parking area on the right, just after passing under a railroad bridge.
