This was my favorite part of my birthday trip in the winter wonderland that is Banff! The views are some of the best I’ve ever seen— and we’ve even been to Switzerland. 🙂
This viewpoint is off the Icefields Parkway which is a must-do item in itself, and during the winter the upper lot closes which makes it a little walk for the remainder of the distance. We were unsure of the total distance and conditions, so we chose to wear our snowshoes which ended up being unnecessary for the conditions but would’ve been helpful if it had recently snowed.
The distance to the overlook point was about a half-mile or less which makes this a short jaunt to this stunning viewpoint.
I think the best way to explain this experience is by letting the photos do the talking, so without further ado— here’s my photo diary!
