(This is the first post of my Labor Day Weekend trip. Click the links for our other explorations at Zebra Slot Canyon, Calf Creek Falls, and Emerald Pools in Zion!)  For Labor Day weekend, Courtney and I wanted to get out of town and have some adventures as the weather is already cooling down as we enter […]

  • Camping & Stand Up Paddle Boarding at Causey Reservoir [Ogden]

Camping & Stand Up Paddle Boarding at Causey Reservoir [Ogden]

The beginning of summer always gets me thinking about what warmer weather adventures I should seek out each year. Our friends Rachel & Brandon invited us to go camping somewhere close to Salt Lake City this past weekend. Somewhere that’s been on my summer bucket list for a while is a trip to Causey Reservoir up in Huntsville, Utah (near Ogden). I thought it’d be a fun, quick trip to combine camping and paddling in the Causey Reservoir.

Places to Camp in California [Guest Post]

Today, I am featuring a guest post from Isabella from about places to camp in California! As you may recall, I took a trip to San Diego in November and a trip to Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, and Sequoia National Park in August. I can’t wait to return! It’s truly a magical state full of adventure. […]

    Salt Lake City Questival 2016

Last weekend, I participated in an event called Questival. In a nutshell, it’s a 24-hour adventure scavenger hunt race. How to Make a Super Comfy Camp Bed! [DIY Guide]

Camping is awesome. You get to sleep under the stars, wake up with the sun for some awesome sunrises, eat too many s’mores, and spend the night in nature. It’s great…until you realize your tent is situated over seemingly giant sticks or rocks that you didn’t notice earlier in the day when you were setting […]

    Great Basin National Park

Happy 4th of July to everyone! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. Established in 1986, Great Basin National Park is located on the eastern border of Nevada, close to Utah. While this park is not frequently nearly as much as Smoky Mountains National Park with only 89,000 average visitors per year, […]

  • Camping near Cascade Springs [Utah]

    Camping near Cascade Springs [Utah]

Getting There and Finding a Campsite I had originally planned on camping in one of the campgrounds in Alpine Loop (Timpanooke or Granite Flat), but I neglected to make a reservation before the online systems closed. Brighton and I were a little slow going that morning- We had to gather our camping boxes and other […]

  • Backpacking to Lake Mary

    Backpacking to Lake Mary

I am just going to start off by saying that an adventure is not an adventure until plans change. We did “technically” go backpacking to Lake Mary, but we also went night hiking back. But first, let me explain… Brighton and I don’t have much experience with backpacking. We’ve been on lots of day hikes […]
